Snowed In

We had a snow day today which was great because I didn't have to go to work, BUT we also got snowed in which wasn't great because we are supposed to be in Atlanta. We had planned to drive to Atlanta tonight for a McKinney Family Reunion; however, when the snow hit, Locke got the 'okay' from his boss to leave town early. So we packed up in a hurry and got on the road hoping to beat the worst of the storm. We got about 50 miles down the highway driving at about 20 mi/hr and decided to turn around because the roads were so bad and driving at that pace it'd take us forever to get there. We passed several wrecks and saw 3 cars spin out in front of us, so while I am really bummed we are missing the reunion, I am thankful we made it back safely.

It's been almost 10 years...

It's been almost 10 years since I have performed in live theater. I have always thought getting back into community theater would be fun and at the beginning of this month I thought "What the heck, I'll audition for something". So I found a little community theater in Murfreesboro TN (about 40 miles SE of Nashville) that was putting on a production of How I Learned to Drive by Paula Vogel. Well I went out for the auditions and had so much fun doing the cold readings that I left content with just having auditioned, not expecting a role.....but much to my excitement they cast me!! My role is called "Female Greek Chorus" and I play several different characters. I have some serious scenes and some scenes that provide comedic relief. It is a small cast of only 5 actors, so I am honored to have been given a part.

Click here for a synopsis of the play if you're interested.

Trying Again

I have tried before to be a blogger. There is so much pressure out there to have a funny or inspiring blog or at the very least just an up to date blog... and I have failed at all of the above in the past. However, I have been inspired tonight by a friend's blog to once again attempt to enter the blogging world. All of my married friends have blogs, so I guess I am 6 months behind already.

I can't promise to entertain or inspire, but I hope to at least inform you of the happenings in our life. Please enjoy, come back often, and leave comments.

A little Top Ten list to update you on the first 6 months of our married life together.
